9 Story Media Group is an industry leading creator, producer and distributor of Emmy award-winning kids and family focused intellectual property, including “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”, “Wild Kratts” and “Doc McStuffins”. Our New York office is seeking a Development Assistant to support the VP, Animation Production and Development and VP, Live Action Development and Production, in a collaborative, creative, fast-paced environment.

The Development Assistant will provide administrative support to the New York development team as they oversee several projects in development at 9 Story Media Group. Candidate must be organized, detail oriented and self-directed, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must have knowledge of Office365 and Google Suite, a self-directed mentality, positive attitude, and an interest to grow in the children’s media field.

The ideal applicant is a flexible thinker who’s able to anticipate needs and prioritize tasks as they arise within a fast-paced schedule and has minimum 1-year previous office experience. As the development department will have multiple projects happening at once, the ability to multi-task across several concurrent deadlines and different production teams is essential in this role. Interest in children’s television and development is a plus.
Manage calendars for two busy VPs of Development in the NY office- serving as the point of contact for scheduling and coordinating all meetings.
Meeting preparation including scheduling, agenda creation and distribution, materials prep, room/AV set up, catering, notes taking, and post-meeting follow ups
Liaise between development department as well as internal and external production teams
Proofread documents and collate feedback
Research on topics in development, market trends, talent, industry comparisons, etc as needed
Keep all essential digital documents and assets organized and readily accessible
Log and prepare for coverage all pitches submitted through the Development email
Log and track talent and project related invoices
Maintain Development Project Tracker
Assist and prepare materials for presentations
Assist with the booking and coordination of travel and event planning for conferences
Track departmental hours and provide other accounting information to accounting team
Generate expense reports related to travel, meals and miscellaneous expenses
Provide daily general assistance the development team as needed
1-2 years of prior assistant work, children’s content experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Detail oriented with superior organizational skills
Forward thinking with ability to juggle multiple projects with various deadlines
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
Self-motivated to take on tasks even when they aren’t assigned
